“It was wonderful to receive this acknowledgment from my organisation for the immediate difference I'd made.”
– Harold Booysen
Harold needed a qualification to drive his progression along the path of pioneering business models and processes that will add value to his stakeholders.
Thinking in processes, fixing loopholes, take organisation further - sit and observe and see how they react
The Challenge
Pioneering new business models and processes in the public sector to give more customer value
Harold Booysen works at National Bargaining Council for the Road Freight and Logistics Industry (NBC) as a Regional Manager.
With a background in industrial psychology and no formal business analyst experience, Harold is guiding his organisation with the implementation of new business models and redesigned business processes, that will help all NCS stakeholders in the various spheres of their operations.
I am involved with or responsible for pioneering all new processes, but I need a qualification to assist me further in progressing on this path.
A big part of his role requires sensitive stakeholder management, and Harold was especially looking for an array of techniques to help people with change in this strong environment.
The Solution
A broad set of frameworks and techniques aimed at facilitating stakeholder perspectives
With a background in Industrial Psychology and Labour Law, Harold was one of those people who are performing business analysis without being aware of it.
So when Harold hit the internet to find suitable training he knew what he needed yet he wasn’t quite sure how to find it – but when his search landed on the Business Change Academy and he saw ‘The Business Analyst Bootcamp – Process Track’ Harold knew he’d found his answer.
The programme had all the elements I was looking for, I was able to exclude the parts I didn’t need, and when speaking to Joe on the telephone about it all it was clear that I was in great hands.
On day 3 Harold felt that he’d already learned enough – “it’s blown my mind” – yet the remainder of the programme cemented everything that had been introduced by that point in such a way that he could go back to NBC, roll up his sleeves and make a positive impact straight away.
The Result
Employer reimburses training fees and the implementation of a new business model
Harold’s happy, and he has good reason to be – two-fold.
Like many of our participants, Harold applied learnings from each day to his work that evening. And, just a few days in, his employers were so impressed with the results, and as he had funded himself, they offered to reimburse his training fees 100%.
It was wonderful to receive this acknowledgment from my organisation for the immediate difference I'd made.
And since, through Harold’s efforts, his organisation “is able to see the light” and he’s having major success running with a new business model for the organisation that will be implemented in 2020.
The Word
Don’t rest on what you already know and seek new experiences to discover what you don’t
Harold needed a qualification to drive his progression along the path of pioneering business models and processes that will add value to his stakeholders.
“The repeatable elements, engaging interactions, and objective views shared have made a massive difference to the influence I can make. Thank you for everything!”
